Paper submission deadline extended to July 22, 2012

The Oriental Chapter of COCOSDA (International Committee for the Co-ordination and Standardization of Speech Databases and Assessment Techniques) is pleased to announce that the 15th Oriental COCOSDA Conference will be held during December 9-12, 2012 at the University of Macau, Macau, China. It will be jointly organized by the University of Macau and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Oriental COCOSDA is an international conference held annually by the oriental chapter of COCOSDA. It aims at boosting the research and development in the field of speech databases and speech technology and enthusing the interests towards spoken language research in East and Southeast Asia. The past Oriental COCOSDA Conferences were held in Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, China, Nepal and Taiwan.

The Oriental COCOSDA Conference in Macau will feature world-class plenary speakers, and interactive lecture and poster sessions. Papers are invited to report substantial, original and unpublished research on all aspects of speech databases, assessments and speech input/output, including, but not limited to:

  • Assessment of speech input and output technologies
  • Multilingual speech corpora
  • Phonetic/phonological systems for oriental languages
  • Romanization of Non-Roman Characters
  • Segmentation and labeling
  • Speech databases and text corpora
  • Speech processing and applications
  • Speech prosody
  • Standards in annotation and evaluation
  • Any other relevant topics

Oriental COCOSDA 2012 is now included in the IEEE's Conference Publication Program. This means that the Oriental COCOSDA 2012 proceedings of accepted papers (for oral presentations) will be indexed and published online on IEEE Xplore.
