  1. 數據分析:常用的數學與統計及大數據的方法來分析數據 ;
  2. 預測方法:建立數學模型,並分析評估其合理性 ;
  3. 電腦軟件運用:利用電腦軟件mathematica, matlab等作統計與對大數據分析;
  4. 實際應用:參與學夏令營的學生自行構作數學模型,在2天參與的學生與澳門大學助教的討論,及使用電腦軟件構作數學模型;

In this camp, we will introduce another side of the application of mathematics in the recent popular industry of “Big Data”. It is completely different from the mathematics found in the high-school textbook. We are interested in development of ideas of “Data Science” in simple but concrete terms for the student participants. We will arrange the participants in small groups with mentors of math major students, in building a closer relationship.

The 2018- Mathematics camp consists of the 4 subjects and a student representation meeting:

  1. Data Analysis: common mathematical and statistical modelling, and analysis method used in big data
  2. Forecasting: Issue in developing mathematical models, and model evaluation in terms of the prediction.
  3. Computer software:  Uses of software of Mathematica, Matlab and others in data analysis.
  4. Practical application: Participants of the summer camp will construct their own mathematical models in 2 days, with the discussion of the mentors, and the help of computer software.
  5. Presentation of Students’ work: Participants will introduce and explain the ideas of mathematical modelling on their own problems.
