Electronic Circuitry for Medical Instrumentation

Course Description

This course is designed to provide students an in-depth understanding of circuit design for the typical biomedical engineering applications. In this course, the electrical characteristic of the various biosignal associated with the physiological events and the principle of major medical devices will be studied. From properties of the biosignal and safety requirements of medical devices, the methodologies for designing both analog and digital circuits for medical devices will be discussed. Additionally, Patient safety, protection circuitry and related guidelines for the safety of medical equipment will also be included in this course.
