Objective

This is the first laboratory that the ECE students will encounter. All ECE students will receive a series of systematic and fundamental training so that they feel comfortable in using some of basic equipment such as power supply, multimeter, function generator,oscilloscope and etc. In this laboratory, several series of experiments for Applied Electronics, Digital Systems, Signals & Systems, Circuit Analysis, Measurements and Instrumentations will be completed.

Facilities

The laboratory has workbenches equipped with 10 sets of equipment and PC designed to accommodate 10 groups of students.

The laboratory experiments will strengthen the student's knowledge in the following areas:

  1. Digital Systems
    Logic ICs, static RAM, combinational and sequential circuits
  2. Circuit Analysis
    Characteristics of Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors, Operational-Amplifier-based Dependent Control Source Circuits, Zero-State and Zero-Input Response of First- and Second-Order Circuits (R, L, C Circuits)
  3. Signals and Systems
    The Measurement of Spectrum of Basic Periodic Signals, Time- and Frequency-Domain Characterization of 1st- and 2nd-Order Systems (R, L, C Circuits and Op-Amp Circuits)
  4. Applied Electronics
    OP-AMP circuits, BJT and FET circuits, power amplifier circuits, 555 timing circuits, and oscillators.
  5. Measurement and Instrumentation
    DC and AC meters, DC and AC bridges, basic operation of test instruments such as oscilloscope and function generator, transducers, data acquisition and signal conditioning.
