This position is intended to complement and strengthen existing departmental staff expertise. We are seeking candidate with a proven track record in scientific research\, an innovative research vision\, and a commitment to education. \nFST is the oldest and one of the most vibrant faculties at UM\, dedicated to student-centric education and cutting-edge research in engineering and science. All of its bachelor’s degree programmes in engineering and computer science are accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and recognized worldwide. UM is among the top 1% in Essential Sciences Indicators (ESI) rankings in both Engineering and Computer Science. In the THE World University Ranks\, the Engineering and Technology programme is ranked among the 126th – 150th and the Computer Science programme is among the top 200\, arising from its status of a local community college in less than 10 years. \nCIS was founded in 1990 and currently has 25 academic staff. The Department offers Bachelor’s\, Master’s and PhD degree programmes\, which cover the main aspects of modern computer science and related technologies. CIS has equipped fifteen laboratories with advanced facilities and rich software tools for its students and academic staff to develop their course projects\, final year projects and R&D projects. The programmes have extensive collaboration with other institutes around the world. \nQualifications \n\nPhD degree in Computer Science or related areas.\nPreference will be given to candidates with specialties in the areas of Financial Technology\, Blockchain and Distributed Computing\, Software Engineering and Service Computing\, Visualization and AR/VR.\nStrong background in Computer Science or related disciplines\, and extensive research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level.\nGood team player for participating in various aspects of the activities of the department\, faculty\, and university and serving the profession.\nFull Professor or above is required to have strong background in Computer Science or related disciplines\, and extensive research\, teaching and corresponding academic leadership experience at the tertiary education level. Record of research accomplishment appropriate to the rank of Full Professor.\n\nThe selected candidate is expected to assume duty in Aug 2022. \nRemuneration \nA taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP828\,100 (approximately USD102\,230) for Associate & Assistant Professor\, MOP1\,210\,300 (approximately USD149\,420) for Full Professor or above will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience.
