DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n主講嘉賓簡介 Speaker Introduction主講嘉賓簡介 \n賽義夫‧拉赫曼教授\n美國維珍尼亞理工大學高級研究院院長\n2018 年及2019 年國際電機電子工程師學會（IEEE）電子和能源協會主席\n2023 年IEEE 主席及首席執行官 \n賽義夫‧拉赫曼教授是美國維珍尼亞理工大學高級研究院創院院長、電氣與計算機工程約瑟夫‧洛靈（Joseph Loring）終身教授，並領導能源和全球環境研究中心。他是IEEE 終身會士和千禧傑出獎章得獎者，擔任2023 年IEEE 主席和首席執行官，並曾在2018 年及2019年擔任IEEE 電子和能源協會主席。他是《IEEE 電氣化雜誌》（IEEE Electrification Magazine）和《IEEE 可持續能源學報》（IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy）創刊主編。曾發表150多篇期刊論文，作過500 多場會議及特邀演講。他是軟件公司BEM Controls\, LLC 的創始人，該公司位於美國維珍尼亞州，專門提供建築能源管理解決方案。他曾為杜克能源公司、東京電力公司、美國國家科學基金會、美國國防部、美國能源部及維珍尼亞州開展多個關於能源效率、可再生能源、區塊鏈和傳感器集成的項目。他於維珍尼亞理工學院暨州立大學取得電氣工程博士學位。 \nSpeaker Introduction\nProfessor Saifur Rahman\nDirector\, Virginia Tech Advanced Research Institute\, USA\nPresident\, IEEE Power and Energy Society\, 2018 and 2019\n2023 IEEE President and CEO \nProfessor Saifur Rahman is the founding director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech\, USA where he is the Joseph R. Loring professor of electrical and computer engineering. He also directs the Center for Energy and the Global Environment. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and an IEEE Millennium Medal winner. He is the 2023 IEEE President and CEO and was the president of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) for 2018 and 2019. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the IEEE Electrification Magazine and the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He has published over 150 journal papers and has made over 500 conference and invited presentations. He is the founder of BEM Controls\, LLC\, a Virginia (USA)-based software company providing building energy management solutions. He has conducted several energy efficiency\, renewable energy\, blockchain and sensor integration projects for Duke Energy\, Tokyo Electric Power Company\, the US National Science Foundation\, the US Department of Defense\, the US Department of Energy and the State of Virginia. He has a PhD degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech. \nAll members of the UM community and the general public are cordially invited to this splendid event.
