Abstract

Emulsion is a complex 1iquid - liquid distributed system, the degree of dispersion closely related to phase bulk and interface layer theological properties. Taking w/o emulsion droplet as sample, the mechanical performance and potential energy of the oil - water emulsion in the electric field were analyzed. The potential barrier preventing droplet floeculation was revealed using Poisson - Boltzmann equation and the Poisson-Smoluchowski, respectively. The emulsion interfacial tension, the relationship between interfacial potential of the dispersed phase and the charge density, the double-layer potential, the induction potential between dispersed droplets were resolved. These are all significant factors to emulsion stability. It has an important significance for deemulsification with application of electric field.

Biography

Wang Kuisheng earned B. Eng. from East China Petroleum Institute at Mineral Engineering in 1982, earned M.Sc. and Ph.D from the China University of Petroleum at Mineral Machinery in 1988 and 1998, respectively. Since 2000, he has been with the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, now he is Full Professor, Ph. D. Student Advisor, and Dean of the school.

He mainly engaged in the oil and chemical industrial machinery and equipment design theories and energy-saving technologies, the fluid mechanical theory, environmental protection technology and equipment, electromechanical integration. He was responsible and participated in the National Natural Science Foundation, 863 projects etc. over 90 projects. He has published 160 academic journals and conference papers, published 5 books, held 6 patents. He also received many awards from China. He has supervised 12 students to receive Ph.D and 26 students to receive M.Sc. He is serving as editorial board members of journals "Oil Field Equipment", "Petrochemical Equipment " and "Journal of Beijing University of Chemical Technology" . He also served as committee members of numerous professional societies in China.
