Rank one non-Hermitian perturbations of classical Hermitian random matrix ensembles

Abstract

We compute the joint eigenvalue density of rank one non-Hermitian perturbations of Gaussian and Laguerre beta-ensembles, as well as of rank one non-unitary perturbations of unitary circular beta-ensembles. These eigenvalues have interpretation as scattering resonances of open quantum systems in the physics literature. The tools we use are the theory of orthogonal polynomials together with the matrix models of Dumitriu-Edelman and Killip-Nenciu. This is a joint work with Rowan Killip (UCLA).

Biography

Prof. Rostyslav Kozhan got his PhD at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena CA, US in 2010. After that, he works as Hedrick Assistant Professor in University of California till 2013. Now, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher of Royal Institute of Technology KTH in Stockholm, Sweden.
