I work even harder to keep it alive by making myself accessible, providing timely feedback, and challenging and encouraging them to do the same.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-size: small;list-style-type: none;text-align: justify;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">My teaching philosophy was developed through my experience teaching and mentoring students, training people in the industry, and coaching players in volleyball. I have taught major courses, compulsory courses, elective courses, and general education courses, for small, medium, and big classes, and in face-to-face, online (synchronously and asynchronously) and hybrid teaching modes.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-size: small;list-style-type: none;text-align: justify;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt;font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight )\">Mutual trust, respect, and caring are crucial means to create empathy between students and teachers. This empathy is important in developing a communication channel.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-size: small;list-style-type: none;text-align: justify;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">I value fairness, honesty, and integrity as important ethical values for their professional and individual development. To demonstrate the importance of these values, I share stories and examples for discussion and analytical thinking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-size: small;list-style-type: none;text-align: justify;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">I value bridging theory and practice, by allowing students to connect with real applications, have direct experience, and potentially be able to create their own ideas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-size: small;list-style-type: none;text-align: justify;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">I use my enthusiasm, humour, and cheerful outlook to capture their attention, and hopefully, create an active and amicable learning environment.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-size: small;list-style-type: none;text-align: justify;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Learning is a continuous process, which should not be limited to the classroom, and I am ready to contribute to this process with my students throughout the courses or activities assigned to or created by me.<br \/><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #154dc4\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Teaching Methodology\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;text-align: justify\">As mentioned earlier, I have instructed undergraduate students from year one to final year, from different majors such as Engineering, Business Administration, Arts and Humanities, Health Science and Education, with classes of varied sizes. To cater to these diverse learning needs effectively and efficiently, I have blended different teaching methods with technology.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;text-align: justify\">The various teaching methods, including student-centred approaches, teacher-centred approaches, project-based learning, blended learning, and active learning methodologies, such as Peer Instruction, offer valuable insights for enhancing activities and improving students\u2019 learning. While technology allows me to organise, present and interact with students.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt;font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );color: #000000\">Currently, the materials for my classes, including lecture slides, reading materials, homework, and general news, are centralised at UM Moodle. I use MS PowerPoint as my map during lessons, but I like to use the whiteboard, videos, simulators, or any other tool whenever appropriate or necessary. I use mobile applications that allow students to engage and interact during class discussions and\/or quick questions.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;text-align: justify\">Regarding assessment methods, I used a mix of methods including exams, quizzes, projects, assignments, and presentations.
