The department provides high-quality undergraduate programme, the Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Chemistry (APC). This programme offers a comprehensive grounding in physics and chemistry to our students, with a focus on their interdisciplinary applications into materials science, environmental science, biomedical science and engineering, electronics, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, etc. The objective of this program is to cultivate students to be scientific professionals and researchers who can tackle various fast-growing global challenges such as energy production, health and well-being, food security and the use of natural resources.

Unlike the traditional single-focused discipline, our undergraduate programme is strongly project-oriented. Besides courses learning in class, students are required to work with their academic supervisors in individual research group and carry out world-leading research projects throughout four years of their studies in our state-of-the-art laboratories. Our graduate will not only have a broad foundation of physics and chemistry principles, but also are trained in applying these principles to various fields with ability to solve complex real-life problems, which could greatly widen their career and research prospects.
