PhD Graduates

 

Keng-Weng LAO (劉景榮) received his B.Sc., master and Ph.D. degrees in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) of Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) from the University of Macau, Macao SAR, P. R. China, in 2009, 2011 and 2016 respectively. He joined the Power Electronics Laboratory, UM and started his research studies in the summer of 2009. He is currently a lecturer (Macao Fellow) of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Faculty of Science and Technology, UM.

Mr. Lao has won various awards. He is the recipeint of Macao Science and Techology R&D for Postgraduate Award (2016), 1st-runner up of "The 13th National Inter-varsity Science and Technology Competition "Challenge Cup" (2013), Champion of Postgraduate Section in The IET Young Professionals Exhibition and Competition (YPEC) (2013), Champion of Schneider (HK) Energy Efficiency Cup (2010). His research interests include traction power supply system, power quality compensation, smart grid, energy management and renewable energy.

Lei WANG (王雷) received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Macau (UM), Macao SAR, P. R. China, in 2011, M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong SAR, P. R. China, in 2012. and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Macau (UM), Macao SAR, P. R. China, in 2016.

Currently, he is a postdoctoral fellow in the Power Electronics Laboratory of University of Macau. His research interests included power electronics, power quality and distribution flexible AC transmission system (DFACTS), power quality compensation, and renewable energy.

Mr. Wang received the champion award in the “Schneider Electric Energy Efficiency Cup”, Hong Kong, 2011.

Jing TANG (唐靜) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Southeast University, Nanjing, China in 2000. She received M.Sc. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from University of Macau, Macao SAR, P. R. China, in 2003. She is currently working as senior electrical engineer in world 5th OEM company Jabil Circuit. She is focusing on power supply design for different applications. It includes AC/DC and DC/DC, external and internal power supplies. She is also designing analog circuits including amplifier and ADC circuits. She is also working in value engineering area for optimizing old design to improve the system performance and cost especially for medical devices.

Ming-Hui ZHAN (詹明輝), as an exchange student from mainland China, received his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Northern Jiao Tong University (NJTU), Beijing, China, in 2003, with excellent thesis of bachelor degree. He continued his study at University of Macau and received his M.Sc. in electrical and electronics engineering in 2006.

Since Sep. 2003, he joined Power Electronic Laboratory, working as research assistant and teaching assistant. His research mainly focused on active power filter application and inverter soft-switching techniques.

Fan NG (吳凡) received the B.Sc. and M. Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Macau (UM), Macao SAR, P. R. China, in 2003 and 2007 respectively. His research interest is power electronics and power quality compensations. He joined the Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI Laboratory of UM as Lab Technician since 2007.

Io-Keong LOK (陸耀強) received his B.Sc. and M. Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Macau, Macao SAR, P. R. China, in 2006 and 2011 respectively. Since the summer of 2006, he joined the Power Electronics Laboratory, UM, where he is working toward the M.Sc. degree. His research interests are soft switching techniques, multilevel inverters and power quality compensators.

Bo SUN (孫博) received his B.Sc. degree in communication engineering from School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Beijing, P. R. China, in 2007. Since Nov. 2007, he joined the power electronics laboratory, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), University of Macau, Macao SAR, P. R. China. His research interest is an integrated controller design.

Sio-Un TAI (戴兆源) received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1997. From 2003, he was an on-job postgraduate student in Electrical Engineering, University of Macau (UM), Macao SAR. At the same time, he joined the Power System laboratory of UM, where he is working toward the M. Sc. in the area of power quality and virtual instrument design. He has published several technical articles in IEEE international conferences and regional conferences.

Xiao-Xi CUI (崔曉曦) received the B.Sc. degree in electronic and information engineering from Guang Xi University, Nanning, China, in 2007 and the M.Sc. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Macau (UM), Macao, China, in 2012. Since 2007 he joined the Power Electronics Laboratory (PE Lab) of UM. He is currently working as a research assistant in PE Lab at UM. His research interests include power electronics converters, energy saving and power quality compensators.

Wai-Hei CHOI (蔡威曦) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Macau (UM), Macao SAR, P. R. China in 2009 and 2012 respectively. His research interest is focus on power electronic applications and power quality compensations. He has joined Power Electronics Laboratory since 2009, and worked as a research assistant from 2013 to 2014. He is currently the laboratory technician in Power Electronics Laboratory and Power System Laboratory of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faulty of Science Technology, University of Macau.

She also received her M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Macau (UM), Macao SAR, P. R. China in 2013. Since September of 2010, she joined the power electronics laboratory, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau, Macao SAR, P.R.China. Her research interest is smart home energy saving system.

Chenpei ZHENG (鄭陳培) received his B.Sc. degree in Electronic and Information Engineering from Fujian Normal University (FNU), Fujian, P. R. China, in 2010. Since Nov. 2010, he joined the Power Electronics Laboratory, University of Macau, Macao SAR, P. R. China. In 2008, Mr. Zheng won the first prize of the Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) in Fujian Division and the second prize of National University Students in basic Language Contest, respectively. Moreover, he won the second prize of the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest in Fujian Division in 2009. His research interest mainly focused on power quality compensation and renewable energy integration.

Since September of 2013, he joined the power electronics laboratory, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), University of Macau, Macao SAR, P. R. China. His research interest is grid-connected inverter and renewable energy source.
