The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for multiple positions (Full/Associate/Assistant Professor), preferably with a specialty in Biomedical Engineering.

Electrical and Computer Engineering has evolved into a high-impact discipline that is reshaping numerous aspects of daily life. Our undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum emphasizes key areas including Microelectronics Circuits, Internet of Things, Energy Internet, Renewable Energy, Telecommunication Infrastructure, and Biomedical Engineering. With a team of 46 full-time academic staff of diverse research backgrounds, the department is now launching a new Intelligent Medical Engineering programme, to support healthcare development in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, particularly in advancing “BIG Health” and Translational Precision Medicine. Qualifications

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the discipline of Structural Engineering.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The emphasis of our programmes is directed to the areas of Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. The objective of our undergraduate programme is to educate and train the students to be civil engineers with formation of good scientific knowledge, sound engineering practice and leadership skills; and to prepare them for their advanced education at international standard. Currently, it has 16 full-time academic staff, around 200 undergraduates and 190 graduate students. UM is among the top 1% in ESI (Essential Sciences Indicators) rankings in Engineering. Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Science, or related Computational/Mechanical areas. Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level, able to lead transformative research at the intersection of structural systems, advanced materials, and global sustainability challenges. To accord the future development, candidates should aspire to redefine the boundaries of structural engineering through disruptive technologies and systems thinking, addressing critical needs in climate resilience, urbanization, and equitable infrastructure development. Candidates should demonstrate evidence in high quality research by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals and successful research grant applications. Experiences of Structural design practice and knowledge of International Codes of Practice are beneficial.

CAIR under ICI focuses on research on computational algorithms, vision and pattern recognition, natural language processing (NLP), human-computer communication, autonomous driving and intelligent robotics, which play a vital role in the development of Macao’s smart city. UM established the Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics with the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and further developed the UM branch of the national Super Intelligent Computing Centre in Hengqin. CAIR’s core research areas include five main research directions: AI health, Human-computer interaction (HCI), Robotics, Metaverse and Computer Graphics.

Qualifications

PhD degree in Computer Science or related areas.
Preference will be given to candidates with specializations in AI for Science, or application of AI to interdisciplinary areas.
