The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The emphasis of our programmes is directed to the areas of Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. The objective of our undergraduate programme is to educate and train the students to be civil engineers with formation of good scientific knowledge, sound engineering practice and leadership skills; and to prepare them for their advanced education at international standard. UM established the Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics with the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and further developed the UM branch of the national Super Intelligent Computing Centre in Hengqin. CAIR’s core research areas include five main research directions: AI health, Human-computer interaction (HCI), Robotics, Metaverse and Computer Graphics.
