Speaker Prof. Ana Isabel Miranda Vice Director Department of Environment and Planning University of Aveiro Abstract Air pollution, both indoors and outdoors, is a major environmental health problem affecting everyone in developed and developing countries alike. The World Health Organization associates to air pollution approximately 3 million premature deaths worldwide per year. This seminar addresses the effects of air pollution on human health through a chain of events, which start with emissions to the air and ends with the health effect. The dispersion and chemical transformation of air pollutants, the human exposure and the inhaled dose are also part of this chain.
