隨著港珠澳大橋及各新城填海區的陸續完工, 本澳汽車的數量將會隱步上升, 空氣污染也因此可能加劇。 為了減低汽車尾氣污染, 政府近年來不遺餘力地推廣電動車及新能源。政府也期望未來輕軌的投入使用, 可以減少市民使用汽車出行, 從而降低本澳整體的尾氣污染。本夏令營的主要介紹交通運輸系統的一些基礎知識(如軌道運輸載具的材料、製造汽車常用的金屬及它們在生產及使用過程中對環境帶來的影響等等) 。 另外,本夏令營也會介紹機電工程如何可以為本澳的可持續發展作出貢獻。

With the completion of the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the new reclaimed areas, the number of vehicles in Macao is expected to increase in an implicit manner. In order to reduce vehicle exhaust pollution, Macao government has spared no effort in recent years to promote electric vehicles and new energy sources. The government also expects that the use of the light rail will reduce the number of people using car to travel, thus reducing the overall exhaust pollution in Macao. Transportation Technology summer camp mainly introduces basic knowledge of the transportation system (such as materials of rail transit, metal used for manufacturing vehicle, and their environmental impact during production and use, etc.). In addition, this summer camp will also introduce how electromechanical engineering can contribute to the sustainable development of Macao.​
