Speaker Mr. Mark Wallace Director of Arup Hong Kong Abstract A one year study was completed in April 2011 by Arup for CEDD GEO Planning Division to review and identify possible government facilities that could be relocated into underground cavern facilities. The study reviewed overseas cases as well as reviewing the current underground cavern developments in Hong Kong. It also identified various possible underground cavern schemes and potential strategic cavern areas that could also be developed. This talk will outline some of the general findings from the study and how a future strategy to continue underground development could be further considered in the city.
