Prof. Limin ZHANG from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) gave a talk entitled ” ‘Digital Hong Kong’ Multi-hazard Risk Evaluation in Extreme Weather Conditions” in Faculty of Science and Technology on the 1st Nov 2019. In this seminar, Prof. ZHANG shared his latest research results in the understanding of the generation and propagation of hazards during a storm. Prof. ZHANG also introduced that HKUST is developing a ‘Digital Hong Kong’ multi-hazard simulation platform to evaluate possible hazardous processes during critical rainstorms in Hong Kong, and that would be an attempt to develop a strategy to cope with geohazards induced by extreme rainstorms. After the seminar, Prof. ZHANG visited the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau) accompanied by Prof. Wanhuan ZHOU, Prof. Ping SHEN and Prof. Liang GAO.
